On busy Calle Princesa, you’ll notice this shop’s interior from the street, adorned as it is in a super graphic mural of the big eyed characters you’ll find featured on so many of Barcelona’s trendy printed merchandises.
Stocking its own brand of women’s wear the racks are carefully arranged in colour order, and here you’ll be able to find the more feminine pieces of the Catalan look: that is to say the dresses, asymmetric skirts and plunging neckline tops are all colourful, but not splashed with nearly as many prints and drawings as other brands and are more tailored, featuring nipped in waists and flowing skirts and sleeves, and even nippy little belts and corsages.
In a street previously dominated by tacky tourist shops selling flamenco dresses for 20 euros and those commemorative plates on stands, with new fashion boutiques seeming to open every week, Ola Pao is leading the charge. Prices range from 30 euros for a top upwards.
