Click here to view map On the edge of the very, very lovely shady square, Placa Sant Pere in the heart of the Ribera is this tiny treasure trove of a shop. With dresses, T shirts, tops skirts, various sequinned bits and pieces, flip flops, and costume jewellery, all slightly individual, but jumbled together to give the overall impression of being in a very cool Granny’s attic. This image is in no way dispelled by the glamorous but eccentric, kohl-eyed proprietor, and her yappy, Shitz-tu who sits on the steps, trying to provoke bigger dogs and passing folk. Particularly impressive is the selection of bags, from a big range of the popular-in-Barcelona belt bags (more like a workman’s tool-belt than a Fresh Prince of Bel Air style bum bag) in a selection of colours, to a huge collection of large, squashy handbags in very brazen golds and silvers, as well as much daintier, vintage looking evening bags and clutches. Everything is super feminine, with plenty more beautiful, one-off pieces. There’s an ever changing display in the window, to inspire you, and if it’s a pretty summer dress or an appliquéd T shirt, a waistcoat or brooch you’re looking for, this is a real find, and worth stepping away from the main highways and byways to come and have a look around. Prices range from about 30 to 40 euros for a top, up to 100 for a dress or jacket.
